I lost my job
I was 22 and in-between jobs. I took a job working at a feed mill that produced animal feed. I was working the desk taking orders from local companies and local people. A gentleman arrived one day to introduce himself as "Al" The owner of the feed company was going to front him $1000 in feed to start his own feed store. He was interested in knowing if I "would 'Fix the books' for him and he would make it worth my wile!" I told him that was not something I felt comfortable with and besides I did not balance the books, I took orders.
When he left I told a coworker close to the owner and she reported it. The next day the owner, Lee, comes in with the guy (Al) who claims I said that just because he would not date me! (!!!???). I looked at him and said "I have a boyfriend! I don't want to date you!" He said I was trying to get back at him for turning me down. (I met the guy once!). Two days later I was fired for poor book keeping. Problem is, I did do the books. He was looking for an excuse. Hopefully Al did rip him off and taught him a lesson!
