Got to the train station on my way to Florence. check the queue for tickets and it is massive, so have a good look around the station and find one of those self service ticket machine. Buy a ticket and job done.. on my way to the train.
Train is about to leave so hurry up a bit more and drag that heavy bag that annoyingly follows me whenever I go somewhere.. run run run... finally on the train. Luckily enough I even find a seat.. phew.. time to relax and enjoy the 4 hrs trip on eurostar to florence:) Mm... I am feeling sleepy and my eyes just keep shutting... well never mind.. give up and rest. A man comes up and asks for ticket, he has a uniform so you recognize he works for the trains and he is a genuine controller.. ok show him the ticket and he doesn't seem to happy.. he says that although I have a valid expensive ticket I also need a reservation ticket. Well i thought.. fair enough let's reserve.. and ask to pay...but the man says although I'll pay for the reservation if any other passenger turns up with his reservation I will have to give up my seat... My genuine question is ... so what on earth am I reserving.. I am going to pay even more and still have to give up my seat... this has got to be dodgy.. Start complaining about it but you can imagin the man covering his years and going lalalalala... and not matter what you say... he just wants the money.. Obviuosly that pisses me off even more and I refuse to pay.. so the man threatens me to stop the train and get me off it at the next polizia ferroviaria station.. how bad... how arrogant and how unfair... In the end I had to pay the extra fee for the seat that eventually I had to give up one stop later.. I just feel so legally robbed!!!
