This one time in band camp...just kidding
Whilst working as a barman in a very well known Irish bar frequented by American tourists on a dark dingy Sunday afternoon, two young Canadian woman came in and order 2 pints of Guinness. Being the friendly barman that I was I obviously starting talking to the two young Ladies. Part of my job back then was to flirt, yes it was part of my job thank you very much. The two young Ladies and myself were having the craic, when out of the blue the lights went out and we were in complete darkness. Good ol Dublin electricity, some one boils a kettle and the whole bleedin country goes dark.
Seeing an opportunity to be "romantic" I told the young ladies to stay put and walked around the bar, picked up two saucers and placed candles on them. Walking back around the bar to the two distressed ladies with the candles burning on the saucers thinking to myself how cool am I.
As I was about to say "here we are ladies" the floor disappeared and I fell straight down a 7 foot hole in the ground with a smash bang and a serious wallop.
Unknown to myself the other barman took it upon himself to go down into the cellar via the trap door and see if the fuse had blown. Also unknowing to the other barman, the warning light and siren wasn't working.
Once I had picked myself up and finished shaking like a retard, I climbed back up the stairs only to find the entire pub laughing at me and of course the two young ladies had walked out.
Ah well you gotta laugh at yourself before you can laugh at anyone else eh :)
